A Piece of Work

Carhartt, the workwear brand that has found a second home among the perennially cool and hip (many of whom often don’t know how to hang a frame much less work a jackhammer) has launched Wylie Welling, an even stronger magnet for the fashion-oriented that offers one-off, vintage Carhartt garments dating back to the 1970s that then undergo considerate restorations by teams in Los Angeles and Detroit as well as small inventories of out-of-stock items. Named after Hamilton Carhartt’s son, Wylie Welling Carhartt, the new spinoff brand is spearheaded by the founder’s great-great granddaughter, Gretchen Valade. NGL, some of these are fire.
