Tuschinski Theatre, Amsterdam
This is a cinema in Amsterdam: the Tuschinski cinema. It was built by Abraham Icek Tuschinski in 1921. The building is a mix of styles, such as art deco and art nouveau. Abraham Icek Tuschinski was a businessman of Jewish Polish background. While emigrating from Poland to the United States in 1903, he decided to stay in Rotterdam during his stop there. In Rotterdam, he opened four cinemas, but all were destroyed during the bombing of Rotterdam in World War II. Tuschinski himself was murdered at the Auschwitz Nazi concentration camp in 1942.
