One of these three is not like the others this week, with work from Singapore, Seoul, and Melbourne. Makan by Foreign Policy Makan is a restaurant in Mexico City serving Singaporean cuisine born from the meeting of two chefs: one from, you guessed it, Mexico and one from Singapore. The identity, designed by Singapore-based Foreign Policy, finds the shared, vernacular DNA between the two countries — loud, vibrant, and expressive — to create a wildly unique design aesthetic infused with bright colors, exuberant typography, and luscious illustrations, all with a humble patina of street food vendors and small restaurants. The four images above don’t quite do justice to all the identity elements so make sure to click through to the project while I figure out a way to get my hands (feet?)
