While Craig Thompson is mostly known for his graphic novels Goodbye, Chunky Rice and Blankets, his latest work for Portland band Menomena is truly amazing. The packaging for the band’s latest album on Barsuk, ‘Friend & Foe’, is a die-cut maze of secrets illustrated by Thompson, that I’m still finding new surprises in. It helps that the album itself is just as unique and breathtaking as the artwork, too.
