Established in 2015, Icelandic Provisions is a brand of traditional Icelandic skyr products available in the United States. Similar to yogurt but thicker, creamier, and packing more grams of protein per serving, skyr has been a staple of Icelandic nutrition for more than 1,000 years. The consumer brand was formed in partnership with MS Iceland Dairies, the oldest and largest dairy cooperative in Iceland that has been crafting Skyr since 1929 and that holds the exclusive rights to the heirloom skyr cultures and the original recipe that have been made available to Icelandic Provisions, who produce it with milk from family-owned farms that abstain from using artificial growth hormones and are located within 100 miles of their production facility.
