Harpo Inc., which owns Oprah’s trademarks, is suing the hosts of Oprahdemics, an “unauthorized study of The Queen of Talk” in podcast form. Interestingly, Harpo states it “does not seek monetary damages or profits [nor] seek to prohibit Defendants from airing a podcast series on their chosen topic” but they do want to protect their trademark from dilution and the possible confusion of people thinking Oprahdemics is a Harpo production.
