1920Ring
The concentration of densely-packed gemstones and their precise geometric arrangement is enhanced by the discreet platinum settings of this ring. Platinum was favoured in Art Deco jewellery because its strength allowed minimal quantities of metal to be used, giving the stones the greatest possible prominence.
Ring · United States · 1920-1930. Platinum set with diamonds and sapphires. By Unknown. Victoria and Albert Museum, London.
