1942Brooch
This brooch is made of diamonds set in palladium. Rarely found in jewellery, palladium was introduced by Tiffany & Co. during the Second World War as an alternative to platinum which was required for military purposes and was temporarily banned from use in jewellery. Tiffany & Co.'s first palladium pieces were made in 1942 and they continued to use the metal until the 1950s.
