Paul Follot (1877-1941) was a leading French designer in the transition from Art Nouveau to Art Deco in the early 20th century. As one of the founding members of the Société des Artistes Décorateurs in 1901, Follot considered decoration to be an essential component of good design and worked across many disciplines, from furniture and ceramics to fabrics and jewellery. In the hope of expanding into the French market, Wedgwood opened a showroom in Paris in 1901 and established a relationship with the retailer, Georges Rouard.
