Jeeves

Poster for premier production of Jeeves starring David Hemmings at the Her Majesty's Theatre. Jeeves was the third stage musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber, following success with Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Jesus Christ Superstar . Based on the characters of P.G. Wodehouse with book and lyrics by Alan Ayckbourn, the show opened on 22 April 1975. It did not repeat the success of earlier shows and closed after 38 performances. The show was later reworked and performed as By Jeeves in 1996.
