Girl with puppets

Pierre Le Faguays was a French sculptor in terracotta and bronze who was active between 1920 and 1935. He produced numerous figures of dancers, archers and athletes, as well as this figure of a girl holding two puppets. Other versions of this subject exist in different materials, such as the example in ivory and gilded bronze (copper alloy) which sold at Christie's New York in 2012 [(sale no. 2538), lot.706].
