1935Mandalay
The pattern on this reversible linen furnishing fabric is called 'Mandalay'. It was designed by Felix C. Gotto for the Old Bleach Linen Co. in about 1935. The firm, a linen manufacturer in Northern Ireland, commissioned textile designs from such leading artists as Marion Dorn, Ashley Havinden and Paul Mansouroff. It in turn received commissions from ships and hotels. Old Bleach Linen was also one of the first companies to screen print designs onto textiles.
