1935Rug
This hand-knotted wool carpet was designed by Betty Joel and made in China in the 1930s. The designer’s initials are incised into the pile in one corner. Joel was a furniture and interior designer who sold French furnishings from the 1920s onwards from her showroom in Sloane Street, London.
