1920Wallpaper
This is a typical example of 1920s wallpaper in the style then known as 'moderne' or 'modernist'. It is characterised by abstract forms indirectly inspired by Cubist painting, and by French decorative styles of the 1920s. Autumnal shades of brown and orange were preferred for sitting-rooms; blues and greens were thought more suitable for bedrooms.
