
Tea strainer
This tea strainer comes from a tea and coffee service. Otto Prutscher started his training in Vienna at a woodworking college. From 1897 to 1901 he studied architecture under Josef Hoffmann at the Kunstgewerbeschule. He then worked as an independent architect, designing interiors and exhibiting his designs at international exhibitions. He also taught drawing, and in 1909 he was appointed Professor of Drawing at the Kunstgewerbeschule. From 1907 he produced numerous designs for the Wiener Werkstätte ('Vienna Workshops').
