2022What can the Metaverse do for you?
With the “metaverse” upon us it will be interesting to see how big brands behave in it and see who’s willing to, apparently, as is the case with UPS here, throw the design guidelines out the window to fit in. UPS participated in Complex’s ComplexLand 3.0 as its official shipping partner and set up a “shop” in the “event” where it hosted boutique labels Cölle, Circulate, Brownstone, and Compton Cowboys, as part of UPS’ larger initiative to support small-to-medium-businesses (SMBs). Back to the image above, though, the Complex Land type is the event’s logo but the jiggy graphic behind it, who knows where it came from and it’s just plain weird to see the UPS logo in this design context.
