Simpangsche Apotheek Surabaya
Also known as Apotek Simpang, this building was a result of a mid-30's Art Deco rebuild of an earlier construction in 1918. for once, this was the 'Times Square' of Surabaya but it has all faded as new business districts move elsewhere in the expanding capital city of East Java. The historic building has been shut closed for decades. a small lawyer office and a quasi cafe/Playstation parlor reside on the East side of what is left of any cheap office space. The quiet streets of more than half a century ago is taken over with a bustling traffic. Outnumbering 3 to 1, speeding motorcycles now dominate the packed and polluted streets of Surabaya.
