Plenty of bold sans serifs this week, with work from Johannesburg, Paris, and Montréal. Baba G by Candice Bondi and Shaun Hill Baba G (a shorter play on “babaganoush”) is a small rotisserie deli in Illovo, a suburb of Johannesburg, South Africa, that prepares its chickens with Afro-Mediterranean flavours. Designed by Johannesburg-based Candice Bondi and Shaun Hill, the identity has a lo-fi street food vendor aesthetic with a tropical, tiki-like twist for a slightly chaotic but neatly controlled set of materials.
