Some sophisticated packaging this week, with work from Ho Chi Minh City, Jakarta, and Los Angeles. Mooncakes by the Lake by The Lab Bakes is a patisserie in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, making some delectable-looking pastries. Among those is a range of mooncakes — a traditional Chinese bakery product — named after Turtle Lake, a popular roundabout (and neighborhood) in the city with a small man-made “lake” at its center and commerce all around, including Bake’s retail store. The packaging, designed by local firm The Lab, uses the roundabout’s lake as a jumping point to create a number of illustrations of the moon reflecting on a lake and a person dipping into the lake, grabbing the reflection of the moon, and transforming it into the different flavors of the mooncakes
