Some retail therapy — whether you are in the market for cookies, children’s goods, or fancy cakes — this week, with work from Landrina, Buenos Aires, and Tel Aviv. Chunky Chunks by Petrikór Chunky Chunks is a cookie shop and café in Arapongas, Brazil, specializing in, as its name implies, chunky and overstuffed cookies. The identity, designed by Londrina, Brazil-based Petrikór, takes an unexpected approach from the more typical warm and fuzzy, typographically decadent designs of most bakeries by adopting an un-cookie-like color (blue) and a single (unidentified) display typeface. The latter’s quirkiness is what makes the minimalism of this identity work and I like that it avoids what would have been an obvious choice of making the type extra chunky.
