Peculiar sans serifs are the common thread this week on Friday Likes with work from London, Helsinki, and Montreal.8th Berlin Biennale by Zak Group This year marked the eighth edition of the Berlin Biennale which was cleverly presented by London-based Zak Group through a split “8” that served as brackets for the bulk of the printed, digital, and outdoor communications. Featuring commissioned aphorisms from artist Agatha Gothe-Snape, the identity is very verbose but the shift in filled-in type and stroked-type provides enough change to keep it lively, along with a simple color palette. The winning concept here was cutting that 8 in half, which also looks like two “B”s back to back (for Berlin Biennale), and the bespoke condensed typeface by Radim Pesko. See full proj
