Red Bull is opposing the registration of the Bullards trademark with the UK Intellectual Property Office specifically as it relates to the “breadth of goods and services” under which it wants to be protected. Red Bull is okay with them using the name for gin and alcoholic beverages, “But,” said Russell Evans of Bullards, “they’re saying we can’t do events, we can’t do soft drinks, which we are going to do because we’re going to do tonics, we can’t do energy drinks – not that we would ever want to do energy drinks”.
