In other flag news, earlier this year, during the 2023 Utah Legislative session, the new Beehive Flag earned House and Senate approval as the official state flag of Utah. A process that began in 2022, it received more than 7,000 submissions that were reviewed by a committee to narrow down to 70, 20 of which were redone by professional designers and offered to the public for voting. The final design is a combination of two of the top five finalists, submitted by Mark Brooks and Sarina Ehrgott.
