Identity and Record Design for Ediciones Inauditas by Koby Barhad

Ediciones Inauditas is an independent Berlin-based record label that commissions, produces, and publishes vinyl records of original sound works by conceptual artists. In collaboration with the contemporary art association Neuer Berliner Kunstverein (nbk), Ediciones Inauditas launched its new brand alongside its first vinyl series, all designed by Toronto-based designer Koby Barhad. The logo design was guided by two principles. First, it sought a subtle way to visually manifest the tension that is inherent to the term “Inauditas” – between the thing that can be heard and experienced (“Auditas”) and that which lies beyond our perception (“In-Auditas”). Second, it aimed to create a dynamic symbol that can adapt to the unique “voice”/sound work of each of the participating artists. The s
