Intolerant Lactose
After a long legal scuffle that started in 2019, the UK’s Intellectual Property Office has finally declared that plant-based milk alternative, Oatly, can not use the phrase “Post Milk Generation”, for which it had filed a trademark application, which, in turn, was challenged by the trade association Dairy UK. (Somebody needs to sue Dairy UK for their logo!) The ruling has, to my understanding, caused some confusion on the internet as many news outlets are leading with the headline that Oatly can not use the word “milk” or call itself “Oat milk” at all.
