New Identity for NMU’s Graduate Studies and Research by C-90
Established in 1960, the Graduate Studies and Research at Northern Michigan University (NMU) offers over 30 graduate degree programs in departments ranging from biology and clinical sciences to education and English. Located in Marquette, MI, NMU is relatively small, with a student population of approximately 7,000-plus students, with approximately 8% of them being in the graduate programs, which are “designed to engage [students] in an active faculty-student exchange of ideas and to provide [them] with extensive hands-on learning and high-caliber research opportunities”. More than 75 percent of its 300-plus full-time faculty members have doctorates or the highest degree in their fields, and a hallmark of the NMU experience is that full-time faculty members teach at all levels
