(Est. 1949) “The Colibri Children and Youth Theatre (“Teatrul pentru copii şi tineret Colibri” in Romanian) is a public performance institution, subordinated to the Craiova City Hall and the Craiova Local Municipal Council. It was founded in 1949, as a Puppet Theatre section of the Marin Sorescu National Theatre, becoming autonomous in 1956. Since 1998, the institution has redefined itself as the Colibri Children and Youth Theatre, preserving the specificity of puppet and animation theatre, broadening the area of ​​addressability and artistic expression.
