Established in 1991, Kaapelitehdas (Cable Factory in English) is the largest and most versatile cultural center in Finland, located in the Ruoholahti neighborhood of Helsinki. Home to three museums (The Finnish Museum of Photography, Theatre Museum, and Hotel and Restaurant Museum), the building also counts with more than 300 tenants that cover a broad range of cultural interests: galleries, musicians, advertising agencies, architecture firms, dancers, and even circus performers. Spanning 5 hectares and with 57,000 square meters (613,000+ square feet) of space, the factory is also host to numerous festivals, fairs, exhibitions, and concerts through three event spaces for rental.
