Established in mid-2014, The Family Building Society is a building society — a term in the UK that refers to financial institutions owned by their members and offering banking and related financial services, like mortgage lending — that is specifically geared to helping families pull funds together so that, say, the young person in the family can get money from parents and grandparents officially to use as a down payment for a home.
