New Logo, Identity, and Packaging for Blackjack Brew Co by Ensemble

Established in 2012, Blackjack Brew Co is a microbrewery in Manchester, UK’s Northern Quarter near Angel Meadows. This last fact is important as it informs part of the identity and its history is, um, notable too: “Of all the terrible slums created by the Industrial Revolution,” reads this sub headline, “Angel Meadow in Manchester was the worst – a violent Dickensian nightmare ridden with crime and disease that even Friedrich Engels called ‘hell on earth’.” Housed in a railway arch and started as a one-man operation, the brewery has slowly grown to a thriving hub and is considered one of the pioneers of Manchester’s brewery tap culture.
