2022No Man is an Islander
The short-lived logo used by the NHL’s New York Islanders during the 1995-96 season is making an improbable return in the team’s Reverse Retro jerseys. At the time, the logo was a representation of the declining quality of the team and was mired in controversy from the start, having been leaked by a reporter and earning (well-deserved) comparison’s to the logo of Gorton’s Seafood, a brand of frozen seafood products, which lead to opposing fans chanting “We want fish sticks”. A 250-plus-page hardcover book was even published about it.
