Did the Atlanta Braves steal the “A”-with-a-tomahawk logo, introduced in 2007, from a painting created by Jose Antonio Rodriguez as part of a high school arts class project in 2002? Both the script “A” and the tomahawk graphics existed since 1987 but they had not been brought together like this. The plot thickens with the fact that Rodriguez, perhaps naively, sent the painting to the team to see if they would be interested in using it and the team replied thanks but no thanks, except that maybe yes thanks?
