Dinamo

Berlin / Basel / Zurich. Founded by Johannes Breyer and Fabian Harb. Dinamo is the foundry that broke the Lineto/Klim rationalist mold and let the typeface itself become a personality — Whyte, Monument Grotesk, Diatype, ABC Diatype, ABC Whyte — typefaces that announce themselves rather than disappear into the design.

Dinamo tools (their interactive specimens, their grid system, their open-source ABC-prefixed faces) changed how foundries present themselves. The contemporary "playful but serious" type-design aesthetic of 2020-2026 is largely Dinamo's invention.
