Plenty of variety in styles this week, with work from Vilnius, Moscow, and Budapest. Neringa by Critical Neringa, originally only the name of the restaurant in its building, is a hotel in a historic landmark in Vilnius, Lithuania, that recently reopened after a three-year renovation to create the new hotel, revive the restaurant, and add three bars. The identity, designed by local firm Critical, introduces a custom wordmark that has been inspired by the historical logos of the restaurant throughout its history since the 1950s but that doesn’t reference any style in particular. It’s just a little weird, a little funky, a little elegant, and plenty of nice. A second element, an “N” that doubles as a ship, is a more direct revival of an original sketch from 1959 by Fel
