Some fun typography and lots of supporting elements this week, with work from Birmingham, Hangzhou, and Ho Chi Minh City. Ohm Jiu Jitsu by A Studio Ohm Jiu Jitsu provides high-level training and Jiu Jitsu instruction to students of all levels in Birmingham, AL, and is named after the Ω, the unit of electrical resistance in the International System of Units, which is kind of bad-ass in a Jiu Jitsu kind of way. The identity, designed by local firm A Studio, builds on both the bad-assed-ness and the electric references to provide a great range of assets, starting with the “ohm” logo that looks like a fist — if your hand had 7 fingers that is — but that also has a really cool bold abstraction and minimalist rendition, followed by a skull with lightning bolts for eye sockets and an electric eel
