TIL that in the state of Maine, the Maine Office of Marijuana Policy, prohibits the use of humans, animals, or fruit in the marketing of retail cannabis products because they might be too attractive for people under 21 years of age. So the mermaid logo for SeaWeed Co. — one of the state’s first adult-use marijuana stores — which is half human, half animal, earned the business a $10,000 fine and an order to stop using the logo.
