The Madison Metropolitan School District (MMSD) in Madiscon, WI — which serves over 27,000 students in 49 schools (32 elementary schools, 12 middle schools, 4 comprehensive high schools and 1 alternative high school) — recently introduced a new logo, with a plot twist: After a traditional bidding process, Louisville, KY-based Fieldtrip was selected from 7 contenders and was awarded a $99,880 contract to develop the logo, identity, brand platform, etc. but, at the same time, MMSD “was gifted the perfect logo for the district that was designed by a private citizen at no additional cost to the district”.
