New Logo and Identity for Coaltown Coffee by Smörgåsbord

Founded in 2018, Coaltown Coffee is a producer of specialty roasted coffee blends. They are headquartered in Ammanford, South Wales, where they have an industrial roastery and maintain a storefront. They also sell their coffee in stores around the UK and online for global shipping. Ammanford is historically known for coal mining, but fell on hard times when the last coal mine (or colliery) closed in 2003. Coaltown Coffee emerged from those hard times with the intent to produce a new “black gold” that would bring jobs to the area, and they continue to operate with a number of worthy objectives such as paying better-than-living wages and maintaining B Corp status.
