Established in 1937, Kalevala is a very well-known jewelry brand and designer/manufacturer in Finland as well as being the biggest employer of goldsmiths and jewelry professionals in the country. Hand-made by more than 80 employees in the company’s workshop in Helsinki, Kalevala offers everything from pendants to earrings to bracelets to necklaces — an interesting bit of trivia is that the necklace Princess Leia wears at the end of Star Wars: Episode IV was designed by Björn Weckström who founded another jewelry brand called Lapponia, which is part of Kalevala.
