Established in 2010, WeWork is a global workplace provider, offering memberships for hot desks, dedicated desks, private offices, and meeting rooms to anyone from freelancers to Fortune 500 employees. As of March 2022, WeWork had more than 626,000 members across its 700 locations in more than 150 cities in 38 countries. As of December 2022 it managed 43.9 million square feet (4,080,000 m2) of space, including 18.3 million square feet (1,700,000 m2) in the United States and Canada. At its height, in 2019, WeWork was valued at $47 billion but then things went real bad, real fast after a botched IPO and the ousting of its founder and CEO Adam Neumann amidst a slew of mismanagement controversies came to light.
