Established in 1977, Aagrah is a family-run food emporium in the UK that encompasses a small but mighty chain of Indian restaurants and banqueting suites, a popular catering service, and a range of retail sauces. Founded by Mohammed Sabir — who emigrated to the UK in his early teens following the Indo-Pakistani war of 1947–1948 — and his family in Shipley, West Yorkshire, the company and restaurant are named after the city in which the Taj Mahal is located: Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India. With seven popular restaurants in and around Leeds, UK, the company launched its Tarka cooking sauce range in 2011 to capture the flavor of their most popular recipes as favored by their loyal customers over the years.
