As the NBA kicks off its new season, players who won awards last season will wear custom, gold-threaded “logoman” patches on their jerseys for their respective season debut. Players like Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (who won MVP), Evan Mobley (Defensive Player of the Year) and Stephon Castle (Rookie of the Year) will have graphic representations of their trophies sewn above the Nike swoosh on the front of their jerseys as will players selected to All-NBA, All-Rookie and All-Defensive teams — a total of 35. The single-use jerseys will then be auctioned off by Sotheby’s.
