Bowie delves into the mysterious and outdated logo of TSMC (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company), the world’s biggest semiconductor manufacturer and the world’s largest and most advanced contract chip manufacturer, supplying companies including Apple, Intel, and Nvidia. Its valuation? A cool 1 trillion dollars. Its logo? A stylized semiconductor wafer that has remained the same since its introduction in 1988. It possibly joins the pantheon of things so bad they are good.
