2025The Sky Sports’ the Limit
Sky Sports has introduced a new proprietary type family designed by Manchester, UK-based F37 Foundry featuring “Angular cuts, sharp terminals and pointed vertices” that “bring a sense of movement, referencing the dynamics of their sports coverage”. Replacing six previously used typefaces that lacked cohesion, the new type family includes five weights, from Light to Super Bold, each with matching italics, and can now “flex across the full range of Sky Sports content, from bold on-screen headlines to detailed stats and editorial features.” I should be turned off by the exaggerated notch aesthetic but they really pulled it off here, especially in the italics.
