The Year in Review, Part 7: The Best in Supporting Identity Elements
In Part 7 we turn our attention to the common supporting elements of an identity. The first selections are for the best color palettes employed throughout the year. The second group is for illustration, celebrating those that excelled in their leading role as well as those in supporting roles. The third looks at photography, from that used to showcase a product’s ingredients to brand-statement photography. The fourth showcases 3D elements, which were surprisingly in low demand this year. The fifth group looks at the best use of motion — not the best specific animation but the overall system of movement behaviors. Sixth group is for patterns and repeating backgrounds. And the seventh group is for icon sets. All in all, plenty of visual exuberance from top to bottom. Display typeface L
