Don’t Worry, Furby Happy

Introduced in 1998, Furby, an interactive toy robot from Tiger Electronics (soon after acquired by Hasbro), sold more than 40 million units in its first three years. Its appeal? It would come out of the box speaking only “Furbish” and would “learn” English over time. Furby has been revived twice, in 2005 and 2012, and is rising from the retail ashes once more with a new design that “features 5 voice activated modes and over 600 responses to discover, including lights, sounds, and 10 unique songs”. Furby, available in two new colors, Purple and Coral, launched on Amazon in June and at all major retailers on July 15.
