Fixer Upper
Earlier this year Allan Peters began fixing logos, starting with U-Haul, which got some good traction. Explaining his thinking and showing some process, he has since “fixed” many logos, including Citi, Amazon, Shell, 3M, and most recently — and popularly, with 3 million views in a mere five days — the Paris 2024 Olympics. The latter is what prompted me to bring this up for many reasons but mainly the fact that the “fix” is literally prohibited by the International Olympic Committee as you can not add any elements to the Olympic Rings, which is the main problem with this public exercise seen by so many people: the solutions are arguably “nicer” but they are in no way beholden to the realities of working with a client and meeting their needs, so, for a lot of designers out there, this series
