Some food establishments with a playful bent this week, with work from Mexico City, Medellín, and Berlin. Piano Piano by Andres Higueros Piano Piano is a pizza joint in Guatemala City, Guatemala, serving what it dubs as “authentic Italian pizza”. The identity, designed by Mexico City-based Andres Higueros, looks like it came straight of Louise Fili’s Grafica della Strada book, which I don’t mean as he copied something from there and called it a day but that the logo, in its delightfully playful Art Deco aesthetic, looks like it could have easily been found among the pages of that book. I love how he took the traditional Art Deco letterforms and then distorted them to fit into triangular shapes — like pizza slices! — to form the logo that can then be rearranged in any numb
