New Packaging for REMA 1000’s “R” by Everland

Established in 1979, REMA 1000 is a discount grocery chain with nearly 900 stores in Norway and Denmark, the majority in the former where the company is headquartered. (For the uninitiated, “REMA” is short for Reitan Mat (Reitan Food) and Reitan refers to the company’s founder, Odd Reitan, while “1000” refers to the store, at some point earlier in its history, offering specifically a selection of only 1,000 different products — it now offers more than 2,500 but “REMA 2500” doesn’t have as good a ring to it.) With a focus on savings and low-cost management of its stores while challenging the perception of a discount grocer, they combine price, quality, and responsibility to provide the best prices for its customers. As part of that effort, REMA 1000 offers its own private label
