Three Stripes and You’re Out

Realizing the uproar it would cause, Adidas quickly retracted — a mere 48 hours later — a filing with the U.S. Trademark Office to oppose an application from Black Lives Matter who were looking to trademark, specifically, its three-stripe yellow motif in various retail classes like clothing, bags, and other apparel. The Command-Z’d filing argued that Black Live Matters’ three-stripe design was likely to cause confusion. The full filing can be found here if you are into that sort of thing.
